YES! After the big success in 2012 of PSY with his viral hit ‘Gangnam Style, we now have our first real viral video of 2013; ‘The Harlem Shake’ and it is taking over the world!

This video was the beginning of all the viral fun of the last two weeks:

The catching music you hear is produced by an artist called Baauer.

Many, many people have adapted the fun and produced their own 30 second clip where the follow the simple (but effective) ingredients:

• There’s one person wearing something on his head who starts to ‘dance’ … the rest of the people around him is not really noticing it (or even cares).
• After about 15 seconds into the song everybody goes nuts. The crazier the better!

Like every year Google release another ZEITGEIST video based on 1.2 trillion searches in 146 languages.
Based on trending search topics Google procuced a short video which gives an interesting (very compressed) overview of the year in under 3 minutes.

I personally love these. I’ve posted the 2011, 2012 (now) and expect many more years to come.

As regular followers of my Christianfictoor.com weblog know I sometimes share viral videos which I find interesting and/or extremely funny.

Yahoo is losing ground and decided to hire the guys behind The Onion to help them a little. And I must say I really love this (viral) video serie “The Onion’s extremely accurate history of the internet”. Hold up … don’t take the ‘extremely accurate’ part to serious … Not to be used for educational purposes, but good for a laugh.

Nowadays Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn are usually integrated into the marketing communication mix of brands. BUT a lot of clients still look strange at me when I suggest to add Pinterest to the mix.

Once in a while I come across a viral that I really want to share with my blog readers. This time “Old Spice Muscle Music”.
It made our crew at the Fictoor Wagelaar office laugh and we had some interesting ‘beat-creation’ contests using the interactive features which is ‘unlocked’ at the end of the viral.

Sometimes I feature new and/or cool innovations on my blog. I was really impressed by this new innovation: a programmable video t-shirt (calles T-SHIRT OS). It is a collaboration between Ballentine’s & Cutecircuit.

Once in a while I share items that are simply too cool for words. This is one of them.
It’s a video of a permanent video-mapping installation by by ‘ANTIVJ’ (directed by Romain Tardy & Thomas Vaquié) on the location “Hala Stulecia” which is the new museum of architecture in Wroclaw, Poland

The video-mapping installation-piece is titled “O (Omicron)” which is actually the last part of the visit to the museum for visitors and a way to create a link between the rich history of the building and the present times, by turning this massive concrete structure into a lively architecture.

There’s a new social network in town called SOCL (pronounce ‘Social’). It was originally in closed beta network but Microsoft now launched it well … quietly.
I’ve been experimenting a little with this new network and decided to make a short video introduction about it (in stead of typing 8 pages of text )
